Arogyadham is a integrative health care and research project of Kasturba Health Society created on the medical campus for promotion of positive health.  It has a budget of Rs 6 lakhs per year for 5 years (2008-2013) for running naturopathy / yoga treatment –cum- propagation centre and is supported by the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy, Dept. of AYUSH.

The centre takes care of preventive and curative aspects of health care in chronic ailments such as hypertension, back pain, bronchial asthma, diabetes etc. with naturopathy and Yoga.  Arogyadham also has Kasturba Nisargopchar Kendra equipped with nature cure facilities with specialization in holistic life style management, walkways, cottages for short stay, canteen with vegetarian health food, yoga and pyramid meditation hall, spiritual library with number of health and spiritual books and magazines, audio-visual and recreation facilities for the benefit of residents. In addition, nature park with accu-pebbles walk track with serene herbal garden, simple cottages with solar water heaters for comfortable stay have been established. Nature cure facilities namely hydrotherapy (steam bath, spinal bath & spray, hip bath, packs etc.), massage ,vibratory massage, mud therapy, colour therapy with chromothermoleum, yoga therapy, acupressure, diet therapy etc. have been well established at the Arogyadham campus in 24 cottages constructed with financial support from Smt. Aparna Ben Trivedi.

In 2010-2011, 586 male and 814 female patients took treatment as outdoor patient and 2377 patients took indoor treatment with physical complaints like arthritis, bronchial asthma, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, got treatment and benefited. Regular special yoga was taken for patients at Dept. of Psychiatry. Further healthy people also utilized the facilities of massage, steam bath etc. for refreshing and energizing themselves. 

Workshops / camps on Yoga, Naturopathy & Health at Arogyadham

Vvarious camps have been conducted with the support of Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy, Dept. of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

Personality Development camp for Children was organized at Arogyadham from 20 Apr- 14 May 2010. About 54 children from different schools took part. Activities such as concentration techniques, yogasana, bhakti yoga (slokas), pyramid meditation, dance, interesting yogic games (indoor & outdoor), art & crafts work with paper and mud, tips on balance life style with personal hygiene were taught by experts during camp. One day Picnic was arranged to Bapu kuti, Gitai Mandir and Shanti Stupa. Daily natural healthy nutritious snacks and juices were provided. Dr V Deotale, Dr A Saxena, and Dr B Taksande were actively involved.

Free Naturopathy and Yoga Treatment Camp sponsored by National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Dept. of AYUSH, Pune was organized at Arogyadham from 14-20 June 2010. 142 out-patients and 3 in-patients  participated Participants were provided free prescribed naturopathy treatments (massage, mud baths, colour therapy, various baths and sprays etc.), therapeutic yogic procedures includes asanas, pranayam, kriya (jalaneti) pyramid meditation, diet, counselling etc). Dr. Palanisamy, naturopathy and yoga expert from National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune visited and observed the different camp activities.  Four days yoga and treatment camp for Patanjali Yoga Mandal, Gopuri (Wardha) was organized at Arogyadham from 7-10 Jul 2010. About 54 people attended.  Daily yoga classes were organized for 1st year MBBS and nursing students of MGIMS for 15 days during the Orientation camp from 17-31 Jul 2010. Yoga camp was organized for the students of the Yoga Institute, Santacruz, Mumbai from 14-16 Aug 2010.

International Symposium on ‘YOGism for Healthy & Happy Living and Aging’ and CME on ‘Management of Life Style Health Problems of Global Importance through Yoga, Meditation and Naturopathy’, co-sponsored by CCRYN, New Delhi and supported by KHS, ICMR, MCI,CSIR & DST was organized from 6-7 December 2010. 

One day naturopathy and yoga camp was organized on 28 Dec 2010 for students of Diploma in Education , Shri Datta Meghe College of Education, Wanadongri, Nagpur. About 80 students and 6 lecturers attended. Senior Citizens Camp was organized on February 13, 2011 and 62 participants from Nagpur attended and benefited. Two days naturopathy and yoga camp was organized on March 28 -29, 2011 at  PHC Bhidi, in collaboration with Dept of Community medicine, MGIMS Sevagram.
