SERVICE

The Department is recognized as a regional center by Govt. of India wherein it collects data of adverse drug reactions and sends the reports to the National ADR centers for further analysis from Vidarbha Region. It provides services for pharmacodynamic drug estimation on request from the Clinical Departments. The faculty members of the department provide guidance in experimental research to postgraduates from other departments related to any drug-related dissertations. The Department supplies distilled water and deionized water to the whole institute.

EDUCATION 

All faculty members take regular lectures for both undergraduates and postgraduates. The postgraduates are taught about the rational use of drugs in different settings i.e. hospitals, PHC, tertiary care centre etc. The postgraduates are also involved in undergraduate teaching. They also assist in faculty research programme. Postgraduate activities are conducted daily in the Department in the form of seminars, discussions, journal clubs, therapeutic problem discussions, essential drugs discussions, MCQ discussion etc. They are taught about the rational use of drugs in different settings i.e. hospitals, PHC, tertiary care centre etc. The department also conducts lectures, practicals, internal assessment etc. for BSc Nursing students. It is involved in integrated teaching programs, e-learning, AMS and internship orientation.

RESEARCH

As a regional centre, the department collects, analyses and reports adverse drug events from Vidarbha region to the National ADR centres. Several undergraduates have conducted ICMR short term research projects under guidance of the departmental faculty.
