Associate Professor

Dr Sachin Pawar graduated from Dr PDM Medical College, Amravati and obtained his MD from Government Medical College, Nagpur in 2008. He has been serving as an assistant professor in Physiology at MGIMS since May 2008. Guided by Dr Ramji Singh, he is currently pursuing Ph. D on “Electrophysiologic studies in lumbosacral radiculopathy”. He has received training in clinical neurophysiology from CARE Hospital, Hyderabad (2009) and in sleep medicine from Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi (2010). He has mentored three medical students for their ICMR – STSs, one each for Kishore Vigyan Prasar Yojana project and MUHS student research project. Keenly interested in medical research- he has completed 10 research projects thus far- he has published 18 research articles and has presented 11 research studies in national conferences. He also authored a book titled ‘Sleep: The wake-up call’. Since 2011, he has also been editing MGIMS News Bulletin- a biannual in-house newsletter.

Dr Sachin has also been entrusted with the responsibility of looking after day-to-day operations of Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Yojana, a scheme jointly run by the Government of Maharashtra and MGIMS for providing free of cost inpatient healthcare for major medical and surgical disorders to families below poverty line.
