PGDGM students participated in plantation drive

On 27 August, learners of Post Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (PGDGM) from MGIMS participated in the plantation drive held in the institute campus. Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India made this drive compulsory at all the learning centers. 16 students – who have enrolled in the course this year- participated in the drive and planted a dozen of saplings near the married PG hostel. Dr AP Jain (Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Study Center In-Charge of PGDGM), Dr Jyoti Jain (Professor and Head of Medicine) and Dr A Saxena (Professor of Medicine) also participated in the drive.

Department of Medicine of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences is a study Center for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) since 2008. “PGDGM is a one year diploma programme and aims at equipping the practicing doctors with knowledge and skills in the field of Geriatric Medicine and enable them to deal with the special problems faced by the elderly”, said Dr Jain.
