Diagnostic cum Therapeutic Multispeciality Health camp was organized at Dr Sushila Nayar Multispeciality Hospital Utawali, Dharni, Amravati on 28th February 2020. Chief guest Smt. Sulochana Jambe (Chairperson, Panchayat Samiti, Dharni) Shri. Dhirubhaiji Mehta (President, KHS, Sevagram), Guest of Honour Shri. Sanjay Kale (Dy.S.P. Melghat), Shri. Nanasaheb Bhise (Social Worker and Educationist, Melghat), Shri. Jagadish Hekade (Upsabhapati, Panchayat Samiti, Dharni), and others paid their respect to Late Dr.Sushila Nayar by garlanding her bust. The Program started with traditional bhajan and blessings of almighty, Ba, Bapu and Badi Behenji (Dr Sushila Nayar) followed by welcome of chief guest and all other dignitaries.
Shri. Dhirubhaiji Mehta, welcomed everyone and spoke about how dispensary was started initially for needy people with support from Mahatma Gandhi Institute Medical Sciences, Sewagram, Wardha. He also described how Dr Chhabra is efficiently running this hospital. Shri Sanjay Kale, thanked everyone for inviting him and also assured that the police department will always be supporting the hospital. “Earlier there was no health facility in Melghat. As Sushila Nayar Hospital came in, the tribal of Meghat are getting better access to good and affordable healthcare”, informed Shri Nanasaheb Bhise to the newer generation. He also requested everyone to take benefits of the wonderful services provided through the health camp. Shri Jagdish Hekade praised how the poor people of tribal areas like Melghat are getting served by S.N. Hospital. He appreciated the efforts of the hospital in reaching out to the poorest of the poor and meeting the needs of the community. “This hospital is an excellent example of sacrifices and proves that all educated people do not work for money; some work for mankind too”, Shri Hekade added. He also assured that they would work hard for getting Ayushman Bharat scheme started at S.N. Hospital.
Chief guest Smt. Sulochana Jambe inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp. In her address, chief guest stressed the need of understanding the problems of the communities of the region and the need to provide to their needs. She requested the people of Melghat to take advantage of the health camp. Chief guest, Shri. Dhirubhaiji Mehta, and others declared the camp open by lighting the lamp and wished the camp a grand success, assuring all the help in every possible way. The Chief Guest also inaugurated the Bike Ambulance and the newly procured Ultra Sonography (USG) machine. All the dignitaries were felicitated by giving token of remembrance.
Dr S Chhabra (Officer on Special Duty) thanked everyone. She shared the hurdles in establishment of the multispecialty hospital in the tribal area of Melghat. She acknowledged the support of health and administration department of Amravati, Divisional commissioner and Collector, then and present DHO, CS. She also mentioned the support of Shri Dhirubhaiji and everyone from KHS and MGIMS, Sevagram. “The hospital administration is also facilitating the running of libraries and outdoor sports in five villages. Five young boys and girls have taken the responsibility of helping children grow healthy and learn beyond schoolbooks. Mission Project by Jan Kalyan Trust, Mumbai has supported the cause”, Dr Chhabra informed. Program ended with National Anthem. Dr. Mihir compered and conducted the program.
Total 1916 patients took benefit of the camp, with multispecialty services totalling 3012, speciality wise - 1029 Medicine, 18 Psychiatry, 395 Surgery, 160 Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 140 Paediatrics, 759 Ophthalmology, 200 ENT, 36 Dental, 275 Orthopaedics, 226 X-ray, 45 ECG. 69 patients have been operated, 19 General Surgery, 10 ENT, 22 eye, 7 orthopaedics, 11 Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Complicated cases of Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedics were referred to Kasturba Hospital, Sevagram. General surgical cases and all major gynaecological cases will be operated at Dr S. N. Hospital on 20 and 21 March.
The chain of camps will continue and next camp shall held on 21st September 2020.
