Dr Prafulla S. Ambulkar , Centre for Genetics & Genomics, Department of Anatomy, MGIMS has bagged Prof. G. P. Talwar Young Scientist award for his outstanding contribution in the field of Reproductive Genetics & Molecular Biology on the occasion of virtual “International conference on challenge and strategies on Reproductive and Environmental Health with special Reference to COVID-19 Pandemic” & 31st Annual meeting of the “Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction & Fertility” (ISSRF-2021). He has won Gold plated medal, Citation and monetary prize.

Dr PA Jategaonkar received Excellence in Research in Surgical Gastroenterology award by an ISO-certified Novel Research Academy, Puducherry, India on 15 Jan, 2021.

Dr PA Jategaonkar received Outstanding Researcher Award in Surgical Gastroenterology & Minimal Access Surgery—ISSN Golden Research Prize” by the International Society for Scientific Network, Tiruchirappali, Tamil Nadu, India on 24 Feb, 2021.

Dr Smita Jategaonkar has been awarded with the fellowship in Post Graduate Program in Pediatric Nutrition by Boston University in Sep 2020.

Dr Deepashri Maraskolhe received Ashok Pathak Junior Best Oral Paper Award for paper (Oral Presentation) on “Are tuberculosis patients at greater risk of acquiring COVID-19 MGIMS data and Review of literature” in the 2nd Annual Conference of Vidarbha Association of Medical Microbiology VAMMCON-2021 (online) held at Akola on 20 - 21 Feb, 2021.

The Department of Community Medicine received the Award underBest Practices and Innovations in Community Medicine India forKiran Clinics: An Innovative Practice” at the 46th Annual National Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine organized from 7-10 Mar 2019 at IGMC, Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.

In the end line assessment of laboratory services, under the Labs for Life Project of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India the MGIMS laboratories of Microbiology, Pathology and Biochemistry have achieved an increased score from 70.3% at baseline to 84.6% at the end line and gained four stars in the assessment.

Dr Pratibha Narang received VAMM Professional Achievement Oration Award instituted by the Vidarbha Association of Medical Microbiologists. The award is given to an eminent microbiologist, above the age of 50 years, who has made an outstanding contributions towards the development of Microbiology as a specialty in the region of Vidarbha.

Dr S Chhabra received Lifetime Achievement Award at the Association of Gynecological Oncologists of India (AGOI) Conference in Gwalior on 17-18 Nov 2018

Dr Nitin Gangane was awarded the Dr Maitreyee Munshi Memorial Oration by the Vidarbha Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists at Nagpur on 24 Jun 2018.

Dr Virendra Vyas was awarded for his excellent contribution in the field of Radiation Oncology by the Association of Radiation Oncology of India at AROICON-2018 in Thiruvananthapuram.

Dr Poonam Varma Shivkumar received an award from the DHO, Wardha for best service of Pradhanmantri Matrutva Abhiyan run by Government of Maharashtra.

Ms Sneha Yadav, undergraduate student of 2016 batch won the Innovation Challenge Award from the University of Groningen, Netherlands and University College of London (NHS, United Kingdom) for her work on “Antibodies that block the non-required site of drug target thereby reducing the adverse side-effects of anti-cancer drugs”. She attended the International Summer School on Oncology in Netherlands from 1-11 Jul 2018

Dr Kshirod Mishra and Dr Ramdas Ransing were awarded the Dr Indla Rama Subba Reddy Award at the 19th Annual National Conference of IAPP at Hyderabad for their paper “Psychiatric morbidities in hospitalized psychiatric patients in correlation with child abuse” on 30 Nov 2018

Dr AK Shukla and Dr Smita Singh were awarded by the Maheshwari Yuva Mandal for rendering social service by conducting ophthalmic surgeries in camps for the last 15 years.

Dr Sucheta Tidke was awarded the Lifetime Education Achievement Award by National and International Compendium for her outstanding achievements in the field of education. The Award was presented to her in November 2018 at a ceremony held in New Delhi.

Dr Akash Bang was awarded American Academy of Pediatrics’ India Giani Fund Scholarship to attend the Pediatrics Academic Societies Annual Meeting at Toronto, Canada from 5-8 May 2018
