Dr Prafulla S. Ambulkar , Centre for Genetics & Genomics, Department of Anatomy, MGIMS has bagged Prof. G. P. Talwar Young Scientist award for his outstanding contribution in the field of Reproductive Genetics & Molecular Biology on the occasion of virtual “International conference on challenge and strategies on Reproductive and Environmental Health with special Reference to COVID-19 Pandemic” & 31st Annual meeting of the “Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction & Fertility” (ISSRF-2021). He has won Gold plated medal, Citation and monetary prize.

Dr Anshu received DBT Clinical Fellowship in Genetics Diagnostics, Genetics Laboratory, Maulana Azad Medical College and Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan Hospital, Delhi, 1 Mar 2020-31 Aug 2021.

Dr PA Jategaonkar received Excellence in Research in Surgical Gastroenterology award by an ISO-certified Novel Research Academy, Puducherry, India on 15 Jan, 2021.

Dr PA Jategaonkar received Outstanding Researcher Award in Surgical Gastroenterology & Minimal Access Surgery—ISSN Golden Research Prize” by the International Society for Scientific Network, Tiruchirappali, Tamil Nadu, India on 24 Feb, 2021.

Dr Smita Jategaonkar has been awarded with the fellowship in Post Graduate Program in Pediatric Nutrition by Boston University in Sep 2020.

Dr Deepashri Maraskolhe received Ashok Pathak Junior Best Oral Paper Award for paper (Oral Presentation) on “Are tuberculosis patients at greater risk of acquiring COVID-19 MGIMS data and Review of literature” in the 2nd Annual Conference of Vidarbha Association of Medical Microbiology VAMMCON-2021 (online) held at Akola on 20 - 21 Feb, 2021.

Dr Abhay Deshmukh received Institute of Scholars, InSc - 2020, Academic Excellence/Best Teachers Award -2020 in recognition of valuable contribution to the academic community and the students from Institute of Scholars, Bangalore in Mar 2020.

Dr Abhay Deshmukh received Global Teaching Excellence Award (GTEA) 2020, Best Teacher of the year” in recognition of continuing excellence in teaching at GTEA Conference 2020 which took place virtually on 27 Dec,2020.

Dr Abhay Deshmukh received India Iconic Education Award - 2021 for superlative and exceptional achievements in the field of education. Awarded at India Education Award ceremony took place virtually on 14 Mar, 2021.

Dr Pallavi Kalbande won 1st Prize in proffered oral paper presentation competition during 16th Annual Conference of association of oncologist of North East India on 19 Jan, 2021.

Dr Pallavi Kalbande won 1st Prize in ICON Radiation oncology competition during 43rd Indian Cooperative Oncology Network Virtual Conference on 9 Oct 9, 2020.

Dr Pallavi Kalbande won Silver Medal in oral paper presentation competition 8th CRAB-E-CON & DWITIYA TELEONCOTHON held from 2 – 4 Oct 2020.

Dr. Rutuja Kolhe held first position in Child Health category, Oral paper presentation Father’s engagement in responsive care giving and child development: a cohort study presented at 2nd IAPSM National Young Leaders’ Conclave, MGIMS, Sewagram, 27 Mar, 2021.

Ms Sneha Yadav & Mr Shreyak Garg , undergraduate students (2016 Batch) won MIT COVID-19 Innovation Challenge (India-Turning the Tide) Hackathon organized by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, U.S.A (Awarded $500 USD)

Ms Sneha Yadav , undergraduate student (2016 batch) won Metropolis Med Engage Scholarship-Wiz-Kid (For Excellence in field of Medical Science) awarded by Metropolis Healthcare Ltd. Mumbai (Awarded 75,000 /- INR)

Ms Sneha Yadav , Ms Shambhavi Chaudhary & Ms Kshitija Palhade, undergraduate students (2015 & 2016 batch) were 1st Runner-up at Dr Inderjit Mitra Memorial Surgical Quiz-2020 (Association of Surgeons, Nagpur)

Mr Ritwiz Mishra, undergraduate student (2018 batch) was selected amongst best 5 winners in Webmed Quest 2020 , a first online national medical conference for undergraduates held on 15-18 May, 2020.

Mrs Bharti Kamble , Staff Nurse at Kasturba Hospital and Ward In-charge for Corona Block Sevagram was bestowed with MS Signature award for her phenomenal leadership in establishing an excellent nursing care in the Corona Block of MGIMS, Sevagram by Ask and Get Business sol organization, Nagpur on 31 Oct, 2020.

The Department of Community Medicine received the Award underBest Practices and Innovations in Community Medicine India forKiran Clinics: An Innovative Practice” at the 46th Annual National Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine organized from 7-10 Mar 2019 at IGMC, Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.

In the end line assessment of laboratory services, under the Labs for Life Project of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India the MGIMS laboratories of Microbiology, Pathology and Biochemistry have achieved an increased score from 70.3% at baseline to 84.6% at the end line and gained four stars in the assessment.

Dr Pratibha Narang received VAMM Professional Achievement Oration Award instituted by the Vidarbha Association of Medical Microbiologists. The award is given to an eminent microbiologist, above the age of 50 years, who has made an outstanding contributions towards the development of Microbiology as a specialty in the region of Vidarbha.

Dr S Chhabra received Lifetime Achievement Award at the Association of Gynecological Oncologists of India (AGOI) Conference in Gwalior on 17-18 Nov 2018

Dr Nitin Gangane was awarded the Dr Maitreyee Munshi Memorial Oration by the Vidarbha Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists at Nagpur on 24 Jun 2018.

Dr Virendra Vyas was awarded for his excellent contribution in the field of Radiation Oncology by the Association of Radiation Oncology of India at AROICON-2018 in Thiruvananthapuram.

Dr Poonam Varma Shivkumar received an award from the DHO, Wardha for best service of Pradhanmantri Matrutva Abhiyan run by Government of Maharashtra.

Ms Sneha Yadav, undergraduate student of 2016 batch won the Innovation Challenge Award from the University of Groningen, Netherlands and University College of London (NHS, United Kingdom) for her work on “Antibodies that block the non-required site of drug target thereby reducing the adverse side-effects of anti-cancer drugs”. She attended the International Summer School on Oncology in Netherlands from 1-11 Jul 2018

Dr Kshirod Mishra and Dr Ramdas Ransing were awarded the Dr Indla Rama Subba Reddy Award at the 19th Annual National Conference of IAPP at Hyderabad for their paper “Psychiatric morbidities in hospitalized psychiatric patients in correlation with child abuse” on 30 Nov 2018

Ms Cheryl Mankar, undergraduate student (2016 batch) received best paper award in the category Primary Health Care for her paper “Effect of SMS based daily messages on child-parent interaction: A quasi-experimental study” at the International Medical Undergraduate Research Conference, University of Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka on 7-8 Feb 2019

Dr Vinod Shende received best e-poster award for his research project ‘Study of usefulness of simulation based learning in first year medical students.’ at the 5th Advanced Course in Medical education (ACME) on 9 Apr 2018 at JNMC Sawangi.

Dr Poonam Varma Shivkumar received Aarogyaa Mitra Gaurav Puraskar on the occasion of Safe Motherhood and World Population Day from Zilla Parishad, Wardha on 11 Jul 2018

Dr AK Shukla and Dr Smita Singh were awarded by the Maheshwari Yuva Mandal for rendering social service by conducting ophthalmic surgeries in camps for the last 15 years.

Dr Sucheta Tidke was awarded the Lifetime Education Achievement Award by National and International Compendium for her outstanding achievements in the field of education. The Award was presented to her in November 2018 at a ceremony held in New Delhi.

Dr Akash Bang was awarded American Academy of Pediatrics’ India Giani Fund Scholarship to attend the Pediatrics Academic Societies Annual Meeting at Toronto, Canada from 5-8 May 2018

Dr Jwalant Waghmare completed his Masters in Health Professions Education from MUHS Nashik in June 2018.

Dr Amrish Saxena received 1st Runner up Award for Oral Paper Presentation in 34th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Nephrology, West-Zone on 28-30 Sep 2018 at Lonavala for his paper titled “Predictors of mortality in acute kidney injury patients”

Dr Ruchi Kothari was awarded 2nd prize for her oral presentation entitled ‘Time and frequency domain indices of heart rate variability in healthy central Indian population investigated during treadmill exercise in Sports Physiology Laboratory’ at ATPCON 2018 - a National Conference in Physiology at the ESIC Medical College Hyderabad on 14- 16 Sep 2018

Mr Sujay Srivastava , undergraduate student (2016 batch) received 2nd prize for best research paper at the International Medical Undergraduate Conference at University of Jayewardenepura, Colombo, Sri Lanka on 7 Feb 2019 for his paper ‘Study of VO2 max in athletes upon exercise on treadmill and cycle ergometer as assessed in sports physiology laboratory’.

Ms Akanksha Nath, undergraduate student (2018 batch) receivedsecond best paper award in the category ‘Primary Health Care’ for her paper “Understanding the health needs of elderly population in rural Wardha, central India: a qualitative study” at the International Medical Undergraduate Research Conference, University of Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka on 7-8 Feb 2019.

Ms Snigdha Sharma, undergraduate student (2016 batch) received2nd prize for best research paper under category of completed funded research projects for her paper titled “A promising fitness parameter unleashed yet to be explored: body shape index” at the MUHS State level Research Conference (Medical Faculty) organized at Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education & Research (MIMER), Pune on 14 Mar 2019
