BS Garg

Dr BS Garg MD & Ph D is secretary, Kasturba Health Society. He is also Director, Dr. Sushila Nayar School of Public Health and Emeritus- Professor of Community Medicine, MGIMS. He is also Incharge of WHO Collaborative Centre for Research & Training in Community Based Maternal, Newborn & Child Health. He has been awarded more than 80 research projects and has served as consultant to WHO (SEARO), DFID, CRS, USAID and various International and National Agencies on issues of public health concern. He has more than 170 publications to his credit.

President of IAPSM 2002 and President of VHAI 2009-13, Dr Garg is a recipient of Dhanwantri & Harcharan Singh Oration. He was awarded Best Teacher by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik in 2006 and Commonwealth Medical fellowship at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in 1989-90
