Ruchi Kothari

Associate Professor

Ruchi Kothari did M.Sc. in Medical Physiology from Dr. SN Medical College, Jodhpur (Rajasthan University) in 2003. She has been associated with MGIMS for the last eight years. During this tenure, she has published a total of 42 research papers in various indexed journals of international and national repute. She has been teaching graduate and post-graduate students since thirteen years. She has received training in teaching methodology from the regional centre of Medical Education Technology (MET- Pune) under the aegis of MUHS, Nashik and also from the MET unit of MGIMS. Being trained in research methodology, she has been awarded the esteemed academic degree Ph.D. for her research on Visual Evoked Potentials in primary open angle glaucoma by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. Currently apart from teaching schedule, she keeps herself engrossed in research aimed at exploring new arenas in visual electrophysiology. Till date she has completed 5 research projects, mentored two students for ICMR STS projects, one student for MUHS sponsored student STRG project and is striving hard to complete her ongoing funded research on optic neuropathies in collaboration with department of ophthalmology. On the reviewer board of Hodder’s Education Publishers, London, she has presented 15 research papers on many national and international platforms. As part of institutional responsibilities, she is currently the Secretary of MGIMS, Academy of Medical Sciences, an active member of Medical Education Unit, a member of core team of e-learning group of MGIMS, a member of NAAC Steering Committee, MGIMS and also remains to be one of the Executive members of Documentation Unit of MGIMS for the past six years in a row.
