On 20 th January 2018, the department of Microbiology witnessed the reunion of its ex postgraduates in the premises of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram. The students participated from all over the country and abroad.
34 alumni joined their alma mater and celebrated the reunion. 'AAj phir milne ki tammanna hai' was the theme of the event. The ex-students took the round of the department and relived their old memories. During the academic round, Dr (Mrs) P Narang, Director- Professor, Dept of Microbiology was felicitated for her astounding contribution in the field of Microbiology. The departmental presentation was carried out later.
The evening was bustling with excitement as the alumni and their families participated in the cultural evening. The music performed at the orchestra filled the air with sweet melody of 90s. The skit performed by the faculty added another cherry on the top. To the delight of everyone, faculty too joined the stage with their performances.
The alumni conveyed their heartfelt gratitude for Dr Vijayshree Deotale, Head of Department of Microbiology for inviting everyone back to their alma mater. “ It gives me great pleasure to reflect back on my experience with MGIMS. I am truly indebted to my alma mater for transforming me into what I am today”, an alumnus expressed.
