Blooming Buds Workshop held

Someone rightly quoted, ‘Children are a heritage of the Lord’! As adults, we always have an inspiration to draw from little children to follow our heart and to chase our dreams. With much enthusiasm, a 10 day-workshop for such lovely children, who were 5 to 12 years of age, was organized by Kasturba Health Society’s ‘Arogyadham, a unique wellness centre for Rejuvenation and Promotion of Positive Health, located in Sevagram, between the 5th and the 15th of May 2018. The workshop witnessed an active participation from 32 such blossoms from different schools, all set to enjoy and learn.

The workshop had a huge package of activities and interesting sessions apt for kids, in store, some of which included dance, music, art and craft, yoga classes teaching simple yogic asanas, classes of memory techniques, yogic games and narration of the best of moral stories. A schedule was drawn and followed, from 9 am to 1 pm every day.

All these kids who carried tremendous energy that was contagious, were given Participation Certificates in the valedictory ceremony on the last day of the workshop at the hands of Dr. Ruchi Kothari, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physiology, MGIMS and resource person for the workshop. The children were also presented a bunch of stationery items and a sapling of “BAEL” as a souvenir and a token of remembrance. Their enjoyment was one such that was never witnessed before. They left with a longing to join soon again, happy and content with the learnings that they were going to take back home.

The successful completion of the workshop would not have been possible without the ardent efforts of Dr. Anuradha Khandekar, Joint Coordinator, Arogyadham, Ms. Sujata Deshmukh, Yoga & Naturopathy Assistant, Arogyadham and her team, Mr. Chetan Dandade, Yoga Therapist, Arogyadham and the mentors of the sessions Ms. Shruti, Mr. Pritam and Mr. Sanjay.
