Collector of Wardha Shri Vivek Bhimanwar inaugurated the Corona Swab Collection Booth at Kasturba Hospital, Sevagram during the first week of the second lockdown on Saturday 18th April. Dr Sachin Ombase (CEO, Wardha), Shri Suresh Bagale (Subdivisional Officer), Dr BS Garg (Secretary, Kasturba Health Society), Dr SP Kalantri (Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital), faculty, hospital staff and members from Rotary club were present.
The Corona Swab Collection Booth helps in effective implementation of social distancing norms during collection of the sample and supports PPE for healthcare workers. The booth is made up of acrylic glass and plywood. “An individual walks up to the mobile booth and stands in front of the glass exterior. The ENT specialist, stationed inside the booth, collects swab samples from the individual and hands it over for its packaging”, demonstrated Dr Sumedh Jajoo (Nodal Officer, Corona Pandemic and Associate Professor of Medicine)
The Corona Swab Collection Booth has been donated by the Rotary Club of Wardha in sponsorship with DS Furnitures.
“The collective effort from community, district administration and healthcare workers would help us deal with this pandemic”, Collector said.
"This booth shall ensure the safety of our team reducing the need of both manpower and PPE kits", said Dr Kalantri.
