1991 Batch Alumni Reunion

1991 Batch Alumni Reunion

On 25th December 2015, MGIMS hosted a long cherished alumni reunion of 1991 batch. Thirty-seven alumni along with their families filled the college auditorium in much the same way as they did in their college days, 25 years back.

The alumni were welcomed back to the campus by Shri Dhiru S Mehta, President KHS, Dr BS Garg, Secretary KHS, Dr KR Patond, Dean MGIMS and Dr SP Kalantri Medical Superintendent, together with faculty
members from all departments.

It was a time for old relationships to be cherished and new ones to be formed. Alumni, took their opportunities one by one to introduce themselves yet again and made their teachers feel prouder! The auditorium was infused with the warmth of students as they felicitated their old teachers with their love and affection.

Several alumni participating in the meet also shared their feelings. “It is great to come back to our campus, where the lap of alma mater revives the spirit of joy yet once again,” said Dr. Pravas Mishra.

“One always feels a connection with one’s alma mater no matter where one is and what one is doing ", said Dr. Mufaddal Moonim.

Shri Dhiru S Mehta emphasized the need of alumni to stay connected with the institute. “The present generation of students could benefit a great deal if alumni support and guide them,” he stated, emphasizing the need for the alumni to act as friends, philosophers and guides to the younger generation of medical students.

“We are fortunate that so many alumni have reached their pinnacle in healthcare,” said Dr KR Patond, Dean MGIMS “This event will help in further strengthening our ties. The MGIMS Alumni network seems to be ever expanding", told Dr BS Garg, Secretary MGIMS looking forward with a sense of purpose and anticipation.

Dr SP Kalantri, whose three-decade old association with alumni is almost legendary couldn't help but go emotional over the overwhelming love and respect bestowed by the students. He said, “MGIMS alumni have almost become a part of our extended family. Their warmth, love and affection would inspire and motivate us to instill similar qualities in the present generation of medical students."
